Language of documents for submission to the Greek administration – Translation Source

Documents required by the Greek government must be submitted in Greek, except for supporting documents issued by foreign authorities, which must be certified. Two Types of Validation: a. Ratification of the Hague Convention (Apostille) For those States that have acceded to the Hague Convention—to which Greece has no reservations—the Public Administration accepts this ratification (APOSTILLE), which is affixed to the foreign document by the competent foreign authority. and b. Consular validation. For those States that have not acceded to the Hague Convention, Validation is required by the Greek consular authority in the country where the document was issued. The translation of foreign public documents in Greece is carried out by:
  1. The Translation Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or
  2. Lawyer, member of the Greek Bar Association, with his original signature and seal.
